I was given the chance to try a brand new M. Zuiko 25mm f1.8 so of course I did not let the opportunity pass. It was no surprise the lens is great. It's like the M. Zuiko 45mm f1.8 except this one comes with a hood. The black version also didn't seem plasticky to me. Unfortunately, I did not get the chance to compare it with the silver version. I'd expect it would be similar to the 45mm f1.8. The biggest surprise to me is that the lens is made in Japan.

The M. Zuiko 75mm f1.8

My Precious |
I recently acquired the M. Zuiko 75mm f1.8 and I'm very glad I did. I've been longing for this lens for a while now because I could not afford it when it came out. I finally caved in and sold some of my lenses (this is one of the reasons why I sold my 12mm f2 and Pana-Leica 25mm F1.4) so I could fund the purchase of this great lens. Perhaps one if not the best MFT lens at the moment.

Olympus E-M5 Firmware Ver 2.0, ISO Low Tests - Part II
In this post I will be mainly showing comparisons of the ISO Low and ISO 200 on long exposure images and my conclusion to the experiment. On the bottom of this post you'll also see a link to download some of the full size SOOC images from Part I and II so you can examine it yourself. You can also click the images on this post to see larger versions. Have fun pixel peeping!

Olympus E-M5 Firmware Ver 2.0, ISO Low Tests - Part I
Olympus recently released a firmware update to the Olympus E-M5 which includes two revisions:
- Small AF target was added to the AF target settings.
- ISO Low (100 equivalent) was expanded on the low sensitivity side.
Here is a link to the Olympus Japan website that shows the history of firmware updates up to Ver 2.0. In this blog post I will be showing images comparing the native ISO of the E-M5 (ISO 200) vs the new ISO Low (ISO 100 equivalent) of the latest firmware Ver 2.0.

Olympus ZD 60mm f/2.8 Macro vs Micro-Nikkor 55mm f/2.8 AI-s
I got the chance to borrow an Olympus M. Zuiko Digital 60mm f/2.8 from a friend just before Christmas and so in this post I will show example images made from it and the Micro-NIKKOR 55mm f/2.8 (used with a Fotodiox Nik-m4/3 adapter of course). Don't expect to see a technical comparison. I'm going to simply let the images speak for themselves.
